Dr. Rabia Shahbaz

Dr. Rabia Shahbaz is an educator, a coach, and an academic leader. She has completed her tenure as a high school mathematics teacher and math department head in public education. She now teaches mathematics to undergraduate students. Dr. Shahbaz created Academic Center for Excellence with a vision to provide an educational hub to students for all their academic needs.

Mr. Wallace Tardy 

Mr. Wallace Tardy, a ninth grade English teacher, is a part of the International Business Academy at Meadowcreek High School, currently in his second year at Meadowcreek. Mr. Tardy’s hometown is Jackson, Mississippi, and he stayed true to his roots by graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi and obtaining his Masters of Arts in Teaching. Drawing on inspiration from his 8th grade teachers, Mr. Nelson and Ms. Thomas, Mr. Tardy strives to change the lives of his own students every day by encouraging them to try their best and never giving up on their aspirations.

Mr. Carl Palmer

Mr. Carl Palmer, III is a science instructor and Robotics Coach at Booker T. Washington High School.  He is in his 24th year as a Science Educator, Coach, and Leader on both the secondary and collegiate levels. Mr. Palmer’s ultimate goal with his students is for them to strive for excellence while achieving success.  Mr. Palmer obtained his degree in Chemistry from Alcorn State University while later working towards a doctorate in Biochemistry from Indiana University.  He earned his Masters of Science in Secondary Science Education and Curriculum from Indiana University and a Master’s of Educational Leadership and Supervision from university of Phoenix.  He loves STEM, preparing students for the MCAT and DAT, as well as providing the best education possible for all students. He believes that all students can learn if they continuously strive for excellence while achieving success. 

Roger Lin

Roger Lin is a senior at the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, & Technology. He has completed a variety of high level AP classes including Calculus AB, Biology, World History, European History, and Computer Science Principles. He is a club officer of the high school Academic Bowl team and has is a National AP Scholar with Distinction and National Merit Semifinalist. He is a tutor who truly believes in each student’s individual ability and aptitude.

Randy Truong

Randy Truong is one of two marketing managers for the Academic Center for Excellence. He is a senior at the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology. Randy has taken Digital Media, AP Computer Science, and AP Calculus BC. Randy Truong is one of two marketing managers for the Academic Center for Excellence. His goal at the Academic Center for Excellence is to bring in more students, as he believes that education is important for the future.

Leo Zheng

Leo Zheng is one of two marketing managers here at the Academic Center of Excellence. He is currently a senior at the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology and he is striving to help expand the Academic Center of Excellence. Leo has taken many rigorous courses at his high school such as Multivariable Calculus, AP Computer Science A, and AP Physics. He is currently the team leader of his Robotics Team (that has qualified for VEX world championships twice). Leo loves to give back to the community and his past experiences and leadership skills make him make him a great leader of the faculty team. Leo believes that a good education will serve as a great foundation for students in the future.
